I can't install firefox on my iMac

I had firefox on my computer then for some reason I did a refresh or something. Then before it could finish I quit firefox. I tried to use it but couldn't. I got this message. "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible." i then downloaded firefox again for the web installed it and got the same message. What do I have to do to get going again?

Thanks

Any help here...

PS. It sounds a bit like Disk corruption to me, so I'd do this first...

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.

(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive & clear caches.)
