Ipad 1 not turning on after not using in a long time

Hello,

So I have an iPad 1 that I haven't use in about a year. I slide to power off the iPad and it sat in my drawer for about a year. Today I decide to sell it because Im not using it anymore and it won't turn on. I plug it into the charger with a 10w adapter. Im sure the charger works as it charge my old iPod just fine. I tried holding down the power button but nothing came up on screen. Then I tried holding down power and home button at the same time. Still nothing. Its been plug in for about an hour and still nothing. The last time i used it I remember it works fine. The iPad was store in a dry cool environment for about a year. Now it won't turn on, is my iPad really dead or what should I do?
