Q: Network

I have a network using wireless with many Apples and a Linux Server running Samba.

Sometimes the apples computers find the shares in network and sometimes doesn't find.

I changed the shares from Samba to AFP Server, but the problem continues.

In the same network I have a MacBook sharing a printer:

Sometimes the other computers can print and sometimes they can't

Does somebody know about that?

    Great catch Drew!

OSX Server might be different, no idea.

    Cheers

OS X server gets into a mess if the hostname, DNS name, computer name get mixed up. It has the 'changeip -checkhostname' command to address issues like that. I don't know if it relevant here - it is unclear to me if the MacBook is running OS X server.

    cups has verbose logging…

    https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/documentation/Darwin/Reference/ManPages/ man8/cupsctl.8.html

    cupsctl --debug-logging

It will give more info, however it isn't clear to me if the client is failing to reach the server so it may not help, I have to wonder if the Macbook has a valid certificate to support encryption but I don't know how cups handles that.
