Register used Thunderbolt Display

I bought a used 27" Apple Thunderbolt Display 2.5 years ago.Today I added a couple of my owned Apple to my Apple Support profile page and wanted to add the display as well. When I added the serial number it says that the display is already registered on another Apple Profile account.

How do I go about register my display or is it impossible to register used Apple products?
