Q: pointer is acting erratically

My pointer whether I use a mouse (usb / wireless) or the track pad is acting totally erratically. It jumps from top to bottom and is difficult to move from left to right.

I have restarted my computer and have all the updated software versions of el capitan.

If you have an older MBP, check the battery by opening the bottom plate. Sometimes the battery, which is under the trackpad, expands and thus interferes with the trackpad operation. If that is the case, replace the battery immediately.
