Q: Best Way to Make New Apple ID That Is iCloud Address?

I'm setting up an iPad for a relative for the first time.

What's the best way to make a totally new Apple ID, and have that Apple ID BE a brand new @icloud.com address?

I'm thinking, the best way to do that is when you first turn the iPad on, and are given the option of creating a new Apple ID. Correct?

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3), iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2010) 12GB RAM

Hello Reuben,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

If you'd like to set up a new Apple ID and iCloud email address, then you can do that in step 6 as shown in the article below.

Get started with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Once you get all set up, when you sign in to iCloud and select the Mail option, you should then be prompted to create an @icloud.com email address.
