Q: Having trouble switching Apple ID email.

When I go to change my apple ID, all I can do is add my new email address to a list of other email addresses - it doesn't change my actual apple ID (which is a different edit section at the top, with no Edit option.) Help?!

Pages, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

If your Apple ID is an .iCloud, or .me, address, you can't change it.

Okay, is there a way to swap my current purchases in iTunes/app store to a new email or Apple ID? I've had the same @me.com email address for 10 years, but I'm getting married in a few weeks and wanted an email address with my new name. I was able to create a new @icloud.com email, and a gmail. Now, I just want all my purchases to transfer over, basically. I don't want to lose 10 years of purchases to switch emails.

You can have 2 Apple IDs. Maybe Apple ID support can help you with the purchases transfer.
