Undo Archive in Mail

Occasionally Iwhen reading Mail on my iPad with iOS 9.2I get a pop up saying "Undo Archive" with a choice of "Cancel" or "Undo". What is this about? What happens with each choice?

This completely depends on your email service provider.

For example, if you use Google as your provider (gmail), you have a choice to either save deleted messages in an archive folder or deleted items (trash) area.

You may be able to check which you have chosen in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > [your email account] > Account > Advanced ...

... depending on who your email provider is.
