Feb 1, 2016 4:15 PM in response to Meg St._Clairby theboxmike,Huh okay that seems strange though as I used to be able to copy text from The Swift Programming Language 2.2 and it would make sense for Apple so people to be able to test their code and learn.
I know they updated the book recently so maybe that has something to do with it.

Feb 1, 2016 4:22 PM in response to theboxmikeby Meg St._Clair,That is a little strange if it worked before. Try deleting the book and re-installing?

Feb 1, 2016 4:47 PM in response to Meg St._Clairby theboxmike,Funnily enough I already have tried to delete and redownload copies and it didn't work, before I did I kept backups in case. Here is what my iBooks library looks like right now.
Earlier iBooks updated The Swift Programming Language 2.2 and I noticed for some reason I have two copies of the book. For some strange reason the book on the left (The highlighted one) WILL let me copy from the book, however the book on the right will not let me. Additionally there are subtle differences in each book (such as code structure and placement).
Maybe there is a way of determining which book is newer?

Feb 1, 2016 6:17 PM in response to Meg St._Clairby theboxmike,Ok thanks for the help guys. It seems as I suspected that the new copy of The Swift Programming language 2.2 is read only for some reason
¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Unless I can find a solution I will keep the old copy for copy/paste purposes and read the new version, for now.
