TRIM or Not? (Crucial MX200 500GB)

Hi there.

I recently got myself a Crucial MX200 500GB SSD. I'm on El Capitan at the moment and was wondering if I should enable TRIM or not? I do music production do I do use my hard disk to write data frequently. Any words of advice?

Thanks...

No need to enable TRIM on your Crucial. Some here will disagree. I've had a Crucial M500 240GB for 2 years without enabling TRIM and it still performs like new.

Supposedly, lots of writing to the SSD might benefit. And you mentioned you do frequent writes. The SSDs that I'm aware of that might have data corruption are those that have the SandForce controller. Crucial SSDs don't and I have not found anything from Crucial saying they do or don't recommend TRIM on their drives.

If you do decide to try it, open Terminal and use the trimforce enable command. Do not use a 3rd party Trim Enabler.
