Podcast playing buzzing sound or silent?

Hi Team-

I have an iPhone 6s and over the past few months, have run into an issue in which the podcast will stop playing and when I hit play again, all that comes out is a loud buzzing sound. I've tried unpairing & repairing my bluetooth beats by dre, played directly from the phone, rewinding and restarting the podcast, closing the app and restarting, trying different podcasts (the majority of these will simply be silent), as well as anything else I can think of to no avail.

It appears to somehow be tied to the iOS as the only solution I've found that works is powering down the phone all together and restarting the phone. Once I do this it works fine (until it happens again, usually once every 2 weeks).

Is this a known bug and are there any patches I need to download to address this? Thanks!

P.S. - I am on iOS 9.2.1 and has been an issue through the past few updates.
