Try the power button. Read the docs.

Using the  iPad Pro is very similar to an iPad 4. Some differences are the is no longer a side switch, lock-rotation and mute are done in the Control Center. The new features the Pro has are Slide over, split view and picture in picture.

You can't turn it on from the keyboard but there are plenty of keyboard shortcuts to learn, see link below.

    Enjoy your Pro.

Dont appreciate your smart A answer

    1) Assumes I have an IPAD Pro - I do not but am considering buying one for spouse

    2) Your bio claims apple user sine 1988- I've got you beat by about 6 years

    3) IF i could have found on the apple site the relevant instruction manual - i wouldn't have asked

    4) In my opinion you should be deducted a few hundred points

despite the auto link says it solved my question  your  answer was worse than useless- a non answer-

I think this is directed at me and NOT Kappy.

I have been on these forums since 2003 as mPm, at first.

Through some forum implementation issues for me in 2007, I had to create a new Apple user ID in 2008 to continue on these forums.

I have been a Mac user since 1995.

I have over twenty years of experience on Macs and almost ten years on Apple's mobile iDevices and iOS.

And all iPads and iOS devices work, basically the same with only minor differences in hardware layout and new iOS features aside, iOS pretty much has worked the same way for many versions.

Also, based entirely on your post, it sure reads as if you already purchased an iPad Pro.

    So...

No - my answer to Kappy was specific to Kappy

    One should NOT assume.

    I mentioned an IPAD 4 - guess why ?   I have one !

I asked about a keyboard start on IPAD Pro -- and the doc you mentioned was too generic to be of any help.

But at least your answer was reasonable and an effort to help

Kappy answer was pure smart A**
