USB 3 Hub Suddenly Stopped Working After 10.11.3

I have a Anker 7 port USB 3 hub connected to my iMac. After the latest OS 10.11.3 update it has completely stopped working.

Thinking it's got a 95% chance of being related to this update, rather than just a fluke of timing. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem with this update? Is there a fix for the problem? Thanks!

I had this problem as well, and eventually stumbled into a fix. The Anker hub worked with Windows, didn't work with any Mac with OS X El Capitan recently installed on it, and when handed to an independent electrical engineer, everything internally looked fine.

It involves resetting the PROM and SMC. On my MacBook Pro for instance it involved holding down the four-chord Command-Option-P-R during boot and keeping it down for at least three chimes. Then I powered off the Mac again, and then booted with Shift-Command-Option-POWERBUTTON. The Mac took a moment more to boot, but then the Anker hub worked like it used to (which was excellent, by the way).
