double click does not work

Hello Community,

Double click no longer works.

I tried user suggestions to slow down the speed of the tracking.

I logged into safe mode and noticed when I am in guest mode, the double click works, but not in my user account.

Where do I go from here? It seems related to something in my user settings.

Thank you!

System Preferences > Trackpad Point & Click

Uncheck and recheck boxes beside all listed items.

Best.

Oh wow!

It's finally fixed!! I was very unhappy! haha! Now I'm happy again.

This is what I finally did:

- I deselected everything, as you suggested above, but then I had no access to anything as I didn't have a mouse plugged in!

- I went to Radioshack and bought an optical mouse

- After I plugged it in, I reset the settings for the mouse.

** - I noticed that the mouse tracking speed was all. the way at fast. I remembered reading in other posts that this could be a problem with double click. I slid it to the middle.

- I went back to Trackpad options. I re-selected everything.

- I tried double-clicking on a few things. It works! I'm thrilled, seriously.
