How to transfer music and photos from iMac to MacBook Pro using Time Machine?

I would like to transfer my music files and photos from my iMac to my MacBook Pro using Time Machine. What do I need to do? Thanks for nay help in this matter.

Thanks for your reply. I want to transfer only the music files and the associated iTunes libraries and the photos, nothing more. How do I do that? I have used Migration Assistant in the past to do what you suggested.
