Zoo Tycoon 1 and 2 won't install because of a slash, backslash or period?!?

Hello. Can anyone help me please?

I can't seem to be able to play Zoo Tycoon 1 or 2 after copying the folder from the game disc to the hard disc (as instructed). The constant message I'm getting is "The path xxx:xxx:xxx contains a slash (/), backslash(\), or period(.)" whenever I try to launch these particular games.

I am really stumped as to why this is happening as nothing I can see contains aforementioned characters.

Has anyone encountered these problems as I haven't - all my other games are fine.

Thanks.
