Feb 3, 2016 10:25 AM in response to Ecilablueby lllaass,Sounds like this:
If so they you can pay to get it fixed but likely not worth it unless you can get a GOOD logic board fro a used MacBook Pro, or see if disabling the descrete graphics works and is acceptable for your use.
This is the Mac Pro desktop forum. I requested your post be moved to the MacBook Pro laptop forum.

Feb 3, 2016 10:46 AM in response to Ecilablueby Grant Bennet-Alder,If you are serious about keeping this MacBook Pro, you can find a shop that will replace the surface-mount graphics chip on the mainboard and provide a modest warranty for their work.
That is what the recall would have done, although indirectly, by swapping out the mainboard for one with a graphics chip from a later batch that did not have the LATENT DEFECT found in some of the early samples.
If you choose not to repair:
Earlier version of Mac OS X caused fewer problems. Using the third-party gfxcardstatus utility to force integrated graphics operation can help.
In contrast, using an external display forces discrete graphics ON, so makes any problems much worse.
