What program should I use to make a DVD from iMovie

To burn a DVD with iDVD from the latest version of iMovie, you have to export the movie using the Export button and select 480p as the size. Open iDVD and start a new project, then drag that exported movie file into the iDVD menu window, avoiding any drop zones you see.

Thanks for info on iDVD I only noticed it went missing after I downgraded from El Capitan to Yosemite, I had always managed to keep old apps when updating OS X.

Apple need a senior upgrade (they probably don't recognise Victor Meldrew) feature which just applies security updates without changing themes desktop or any other feature that they think might be attractive to a youngster. (I like to change things myself if i want change)

This rush to abandon CD/DVD is going to be a pain as I use them to safely store material (photo's) I want to keep all other options are more fragile or less secure. I don't trust the cloud with my data yet.
