I want to sort file types in finder

In finder I am trying to edit my photo files.

I need to separate RAW, RW2, NEF and any other Raw files from jpg.

I have tried arrange by kind, size and type but none did separate RAW from jpg.

How can i do this with my Mac?

Open Finder. Select View and set as List.

One of the columns will be "Kind". Click on Kind and the files will be sorted by extension.

The selection of "kind" only separates photos from movies and other files like pdf, pages etc.

So photos of any file type are not separated.

The size option gets nearer to doing the job but the size options cause an overlap. e.g. from 10kb to 1mb includes only jpg. and the next option, from 1mb to 100mb includes larger jpg and all RAW files.

In windows files could be separated by type (extension), this was useful. But I am never going back to W!

Is there an Automator method to do this?

RAW files in my photos include RW2, NEF and RAW. These are uncompressed files produced by the camera, giving the purest image with no loss due to compression.

The other files jpg, gif, png and tiff of which I use jpg and tiff are compressed files they are usually smaller than RAW.

The view options of 'kind' 'size' or any other do not allow sorting of file type, see reply to KimUserName.
