import photos to Photos from iPhone by wifi or AirDrop?

Is it possible (yet) to import photos into the Photos app (on my MacBook Pro) from my iPhone via wifi or AirDrop? This seems like an obvious thing to do.

I can do a wifi transfer of iPhone photos to my Mac and then import those into Photos. But that is extra steps and extra disk space used. It seems there must be a direct route. I'm not using iCloud due to limited data.

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.2), 8GB RAM
