My laptop charging is weird.

After I leave my MacBook Pro charging overnight, It makes the startup sound and a white screen comes up with bars at the bottom. After a minute or so the screen goes away. Then I can't use my track pad or keyboard. After all this I can login in and everything in normal. Is this normal and how do I fix it?
