How many app screens can an iPhone have?

My iPhone 5S running OS 9.2.1 appears to be limited to 15 screens, showing 20 apps each.

Is this the maximum number of app screens this device can display?

What happens when I have more than the 300 apps these screens can display?

Where are the other apps? How can I make them appear on a screen so I can delete them?

You will not be able to make the app visible until you delete enough apps for it to have room on one of the home screens.

Delete the app this way. Settings>General>Storage & iCloud Usage>Manage Storage. Swipe down until you find the app that you want to delete. Tap on it and then tap Delete App in the next screen.

Ingo,

Thanks for the reply.

Spotlight will open the app, but it will not show me its location on an app screen, or bring it onto a visible app screen if it is not already on one.

The link you provided does not address this question, or my problem, which is to be able to see the icon of a non-visible app in order to delete it.

Can you help me find documentation on what happens when there are more apps than the 15 screen accommodate?

Thanks, Demo.

I was able to delete the app using the method you described.

Is there a way to get the "hidden" apps to fill in the blank spaces in the visible screen after I delete some of the visible apps to make room for them?

They should do that automatically. If they don't, try power cycling the phone. If all else fails, you can reset the home screen layout. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout

That's something I have yet to see. Back in the past when there were lots of useful/ad-free app for free and I went on downloading sprees, I did find that new screens got bumped when the previous ones got filled, but never "hidden apps". But then, even on the wildest day, never did hit the 15-screen ceiling. And, of course, the Home Screen will never get new stuff dumped on it, even if free slots are available.
