How to open up a Logitech 930e webcam

Hi

I just bought the logitech 930e webcam thinking i could just plug it in to my iMac and an icon would appear on my desktop, but Nothing !

I feel so dumb about this since now I don't know how to open up the cam and get started .I need anidiots guide to this if anyone can help.

I'm using an iMac running Yosemite

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Have you opened Skype, Facetime, Photobooth, etc. to see if the camera is available to be selected?
