Itunes Store - How do i change from USA to UK

Can somebody please help!!!!!

I have recently downloaded itunes v 7.02 and my Itunes store is set to USA. I have read all of the links posted on this site, and they all say that to change the store you just pick from the drop down list, and hey presto all is well.

Ufortunately, this is not the case for me. I have installed a previous version v5 and the same problem persists. I even reset my laptop to the factory settings and checked that everything was set for the UK and as soon as i reinstalled itunes, the same thing happened. It is driving me mad!!!!!! Any suggestions?

If you have already tried using the pop-down menu, go to your iTunes music store homepage then in the upper right corner should be your account email. Click on that & change your country. Hope that works

Thanks for your response.

I did try your suggestion, and it appears that itunes knows my account is for the UK, so i am unable to change it. Really frustrated with this now. How can my account be for the uk but the store USA. When i try and purchase from the USA it knows that i have a UK account and tries to redirect me, but guess what, the USA page appears once more. AHHHHHHHHHHHH

Ever since i updated itunes the exact same has been happening to me. It is very very annoying and i fear my computer might take the brunt of my frustration

Tell me about it.

I have since done a complete install of XP, and not from the HP boot discs this time, and once again the USA site is the default. Whenever i try and change the store, i get a message that the itunes UK store is unavailable at this time.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi Can I ask did you manage to sort this problem as I have also tryed all the above and still am stuck int he USA store... so frustrating, Can anyone help?

Hi Lisa,

Unfortunately, i have not resolved this problem. I have since found out that if i goto the apple store and log on to itunes using their broadband i get the uk store as default. This indicates that as itunes uses your ip address to determine where in the world you are, the problem lies with my broadband provider and my hidden ip address.

Don't know whether this applies to you, but if i want to buy from itunes i need to use someone elses internet connection or go to an apple store.
