How do I transfer a large amount of photos currently backed up to iCloud to my desktop Mac Computer ?
Thank you for your assistance - I can't seem to find an answer despite my hunting for one!

I THINK!??!?!: If they are backed up to iCloud but accessible through 'Photos' you can go into Photos and highlight them all and go File -> Export originals (or something like that). You can then choose where to export them to. I just did this recently to keep backups on a portable hard drive.
If you are using OS 10.10.3 or later, open the Photos application, then go to preferences/iCloud, and set up syncing.
You can also do a manual download at iCloud.com/Photos. Click Select Photos, then hold down the option/alt key while selecting the photos. Then click Download.
