After a reboot iMac backgrounds all went black. I don't see a setting that would change it and can not even read any thing due to this... Help!
Very odd. Have you tried resetting the NVRAM? This helps reset video card and RAM caches that could be causing the issue.
SMC reset is always good if we think there could be a hardware issue.

Will try, the odd part is if you go on the guest account all settings are normal and everything is the way it should be
Did you recently install any 3rd party software? If it is user specific, then the issue is most likely not related to hardware.
I like to start by looking in System Preferences > Users and Groups > Click your user > Login Items. Remove anything in here. If you really need something to start when you log in, add it back later.
Okay so removed all programs from start up and also did the PRAM reset and nothing still. All is black...
boot into the Recovery volume (boot with the Command + R keys held down), select Disk Utility and repair the disk. Reboot normally and check to see if there's any improvements.
Background on all menus are black after reboot...
