    Go to any large-enough computer store and buy a regular hard or flash drive with enough space. If it's not specifically intended for Macs, once you plug it in, choose Utilities from the Finder's Go menu, open the Disk Utility, and reformat it as Mac OS Extended (Journaled); Time Machine will reformat the drive itself if it needs to.
