Microsoft Excel will not Launch

I have the Microsoft Suite, I use Microsoft Word all the time, however, excel and powerpoint rarely. Today, I needed to open an excel document and Excel will not launch. I opened word with no problem. So then I tried to open Powerpoint and that will not launch either. Can someone please help me and figure out why I can open Word, but not Excel or Powerpoint? Thank you
