I have done everything possible, de registered from Apple as my previous phone was iPhone, hard restore x3 , deleted and made new contacts etc etc etc ......

IF you were able to get text message after you switch to a Samsung, you've completely deregister from Apple.
You can double check that by contacting Apple.
Don't think the link below will help, but I still think its an issue with your carrier. Who is your carrier?

Yes I figured it would be since you were able to text after swapping out.
I would try talking to someone higher up at 3.

I am only a year into a 2 yr contract but I have told them I want to leave with no penalty for early ending of contract , which they have said I can but I still need to pay £110 for the phone as its over 6mths old I cannot return it !!! I'm not happy
