4th Generation Apple TV does not show in itunes window cannot sync own content. Home sharing is on. Can not upload to the apple TV music from my itunes library. Had a previous 1st Gen Apple TV. Any help would be great. Thanks

The Apple TV is a streaming device rather than a storage device. You would enable home sharing and stream from your local iTunes library via home share or stream from online content providers who have released apps the the App Store like Netflix, Hulu, Crackle, HBO etc. you would enable icloud photos and stream from iCloud. But you won't actually store any personal data on the ATV4 device itself that functionality was only available on the first generation...

Wish i had known this prior to purchase. Is there going to be any drop off in sound quality? Really wanted this as a dedicated music server. Guess i should have bought a used mac mini, Sound quality is important to me.
i am probably not the audiophile that you are but I think the sound quality is great! only the 1st generation had storage capability. The 3 generations released since did not. You can always try and see for yourself as you have the option of return/exchange (depending on where you bought it).
Thanks for your response. Listened to some audio files and they sound pretty decent. I suppose i will await a sound enhancer app. like i have on my iphone.
