Apple Earpod jack broken off and stuck inside phone

So basically i was using the apple earpods normally on an android phone.(which is still under warranty) Later on i discovered the headphone jack of the earpods had split right in half and stuck itself into the headphone jack of the phone and i am unable to remove it thus far. There were no improper use or hyperextension of the headphones use and is evident by the perfect split around the white joints of the jack. WHo should i contact for a solution? Appl or the phone company?
