Deleting photos from photo stream on macbook
I am able to select a photo in photo stream on my macbook pro but am unable to delete the photo.

Not unless you tell us why, what you have, what you are doing and what happens
In general using Photos for Mac you right click on a photo and select delete 1 photo (or select multiple photos and delete "n" photos)

Thanks for responding Larry, let me give you a few more specifics.
The version of iphoto I'm using is 9.2.1.
When I open iPhoto, on the left hand side there are a few folder selections
when i click on Photo Stream folder I see all of my photos, keep in mind these are not imported
but just the same i can see all of them. I can even click and select a photo it will outline the photo with
a yellow border. I know everything is normal to this point. But i simply cannot right click and delete.
Perhaps I have something configured wrong? Very frustrating
