Problem with video export in AVI uncompressed

Hi,

I have installed Quick Time Pro 7 on Mac OS X 10.8.5.

There isn't EXPORT video in AVI uncompressed, why?

Basically, in order to use a particular codec, it must

  1. Be installed on your system,
  2. Be configured for "active" use, and
  3. Be programmed for use by the app you are using.


For instance, as you can see here

The QT Player 7 Pro app under El Capitan is not programmed to use the Uncompressed 10-bit (or 8-bit) 4-2-2 codec as a valid video encode option when exporting AVI file content even though both are installed, active, and available for use by the same app for QuickTime (MOV) file export as seen below:

In this case, it might be better to use the free MPEG Streamclip app GUI to access your system's codec configuration and the QT 7 routines embedded in your Mac OS since this app is not programmed to limit your encoding options in the same way the QT 7 Pro software is programmed. Just remember that this extra freedom comes with a price since MPEG Streamclip may allow your to select codec combinations that may not encode properly as AVI.
