new iTunes music is easily downloaded from our iPhones to our macs but doesn't show up on our regular windows laptops. What can we do?

Thanks! We have done this. We signed up for the three months free trial to download music....and it's all those songs that sync to our macs but not to our regular windows laptops.
Itunes is recognizing the phone and picking up all the music but not importing it through iCloud.
On the Windows machines enable the menu bar if hidden with Ctrl+B. Under Edit > Preferences > General tick Show Apple Music. If content still isn't showing try signing out of your account and then sign in again.

Still nothing. This time it did say 'iTunes encountered a problem (-50). Do you know what that means by any chance?

If your iPhones are running iOS 9, then a laptop running Vista would need iTunes version 12.1.3 in order to have any chance of success. It's a good thing you have Macs, because iTunes for Windows is getting worse all the time and Vista is not really supported anymore.
Thanks, I overlooked the detail. Apple Music isn't supported on Windows Vista.
