Q: Apple AC Wall Plug Adapter Exchange Program catch 22

I need according to apple to exchange my wall plug because of risk for electrical chock. Apple has started an exchange program  in Europe where you have to give the serial number of the computer in order to get a healthy wall plug But after giving the serial number I get the message that this device is not included in the program. I can not even contact support because my computer core du 2008 is out of the warranty. But in this case  it is about the wall plug. Not the computer. What to do?

Ibook G4, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

If you purchased a product with MagSafe or replacement power adapter for the computer,

in the last few yrs or so, it may be subject to an exchange if it is the correct part number.

Does your adapter identify with those shown in the official Apple page on this topic?

    https://www.apple.com/support/ac-wallplug-adapter/

"These wall plug adapters shipped from 2003 to 2015 with Mac and certain iOS devices,

and were also included in the Apple World Travel Adapter Kit...."

    Identifying your wall plug adapter

Compare your adapter to the images below. An affected wall plug adapter has 4 or 5 characters or no characters

on the inside slot where it attaches to an Apple power adapter. Redesigned adapters have a 3-letter regional code

in the slot (EUR, KOR, AUS, ARG or BRA).

    • There is this disclaimer notice:

"Note: Other wall plug adapters, including those designed for Canada, China, Hong Kong, Japan,

United Kingdom, & United States, and Apple USB power adapters are not affected by this program."

So you may have to see if you could take the subject power adapter to an authorized

Apple service provider or official Apple Store for inspection; but use the contact info

(see previous Apple link) to navigate to your country page to try to find your options.

    Good luck in this matter!
