mini displayport

Hello, I have read all the discussion articles about mini or normal displayport and didn't find my answer.

I've noted elsewhere that I can connect a PC laptop to an iMac with a displayport port to use this gorgeous 27" display IF the laptop has displayport or minidisplay port. (this video is old, but it's where I found some of the info I'm referring to) https://youtu.be/Q-VrcbBhWUo

The PC laptop I'm thinking about buying does have a displayport port. (No remarks on buying a PC laptop please)

However, I'm not seeing a displayport port on the back of this iMac . I do see two thunderbolt ports which I'm not using.

If I buy a male mini displayport to male thunderbolt cord, WILL THIS WORK?
