remove grid lines from from pdf preview export

After I have opened a print in pdf preview, I usually go to {file > export} and then select jpeg. When I reopen the jpeg there are now these gray grid lines on the image. This just started yesterday (2/4/16) and now I can't find how to stop having the grid lines on the exported jpeg. Please help.
