How to download voice recording by MicPro from iPad to iMac

How to download, sync, a recording of a lecture from MicPro on iPad to iTunes on iMac. I have done this once before but forgotten the steps. Might this be because I have OS X El Capitan since I lst ried this. Thanks, Fiona
