I cannot change the software instrument to anything other than electric piano. Ideas?

I cannot change the software instrument to anything other than electric piano. Ideas? I've tried deleting the track and trying again. I've added new tracks (they all do it.) I've gone to a different project. I've created a new document. I've done a full key reset. I've restored the sound library. Any ideas I've missed?

How are you creating the software instrument track?

If you create it by "Duplicate Track" you cannot change much at all.

If that is not the problem, check, if you have any other software instruments installed.

What are you seeing in the Instrument Library at /Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/Track Settings/Software/ ?

Are there more software instruments installed than just Piano?
