I need to repurchase FCPX under new Apple ID. Will I lose current projects?

I have been doing freelance video work for a couple years and one of my early clients had provided me with FCPX but it was under their Apple ID. I no longer work for them so now I need to purchase FCPX under my own Apple ID. I don't want to lose any of my projects though. Is this possible?
