iMac 21.5" 2010 running El capitan refuses to install silverlight

I have an iMac 21.5" 2010 running el capitan, i have tried uninstalling silverlight restarting and installing it again and nothing it doesn't work.

it says it has installed properly and when you go back to netflix or amazon it says you have to install it.

If you are using Safari go into Preferences>Security>Plugin Settings and make sure Silverlight is enabled and set to Allow.
