When I try to get on Facebook on my IPad it keeps flashing on and off. Never happen before. What is the problem.

Have you tried removing Facebook app and reinstalling it?
When an app misbehaves this is why I try:
1. Quit the app and open it again. To quit an app double click the Home button to reveal the app switcher. Flick up on the page preview of the app you want to quit. The page preview will fly away and disappear. That quits the app.
2. If #1 didn't help quit the app again and reset the iPad. After quitting the app press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.
3. If the first two didn't help quit the app again, then delete the app. Then reset the iPad. When the iPad restarts use the App Store app to download a fresh copy of the app.
4. Contact the developer of the app for assistance.
