Is there a way to use the MA070G/A FM adapter w/ the 40Gb iPod? Model A1040

This FM Radio adapter seems to fit the 40Gb iPod (Model A1040, EMC No. 1961) and the remote control seems to operate the iPod to play stored music, but the FM radio functionality does not appear anywhere on the iPod screen.

The unit shows that it is running SW v2.3

Is there a download to this iPod that would add the SW functionality so I can use this Apple FM Radio accessory?

The Apple iPod radio/remote is only compatible with the iPod nano and the iPod 5th generation (iPod video).

Although the remote will work with other models, the radio will not.
