Apr 4, 2016 1:06 PM in response to Fred271by Steveps3,I have the same problem on at atv4. Whenever I let it fall asleep itself more often that not the sound will not be there next time I boot it up. The only way to make it return is to put it to sleep manually then turn it on again. If I turn it off myself to begin with the sound is normally there next time. I have tried changing hdmi cables and also doing a full factory reset on it but it still happens. How long a warranty do we have on these devices?

Apr 4, 2016 1:27 PM in response to Fred271by Vinceassociate,How is your ATV connected? Direct to TV or through receiver? Also if direct to TV are you using external speakers?

Apr 4, 2016 1:33 PM in response to Vinceassociateby Viper3773,Mine is direct to TV using TV speakers. The Apple TV needs to be rebooted and sometimes even rebooted twice before I get sound.

Apr 4, 2016 1:43 PM in response to Viper3773by Vinceassociate,In your case, little to eliminate. You should work through this: Get help with audio, video, or power on Apple TV - Apple Support
Do a reset and a restore if unresolved. If no progress, I would return it under warranty.
I have had mine for 6 months connected through a Yamaha receiver and have never experienced any audio drop out.
