My Friend hasn't Received her Itunes Gift card which I "Gifted" Her.

I "gifted" a $15 Itunes gift card to a friend. The recipient hasn't received the card nor have I received an e-mail confirmation of my purchase and I made the purchase 3 hours ago. While making the purchase I did get "You've successfully scheduled your$15 Itunes Gift". Do these take awhile to go through? I thought it would be instant. Thank You.
