You should be able to update the primary email address on the account by logging into it on http://appleid.apple.com : Change your Apple ID - Apple Support
After updating it (preferably log out o everywhere prior to updating it and aback in with the new version afterwards) : What to do after you change your Apple ID email address or password - Apple Support
