Getting rid of options pop up on dock icons

Ive just changed batteries in my wireless apple mouse. Done this before but this time it wouldn't recognise the new ones.

l looked up how to fix this and one suggestions was to click right and left on the mouse buttons a few times.

This worked but now I'm left with black pop up options on every dock icon and a white pop up for new folder, clean up etc for my desktop and can't get rid of that .

ANy ideas please, it's driving me potty!
