Q: Imessage question

I have my Imessages on Ipad, Iphone and Mac desktop.  Suddenly on my desktop the left bar that has the conversation summary has gone to just the persons badge (not sure of terminology.  I took a screen shot.

Question 2:  Can I set it so when I delete a conversation on one device it will delete on all 3?
