change status
my status is always on " offline" how do I change that?
More information would help. Where are you seeing this? Mail, Messages....?

Hi,
I am reading this as I Search the Communities using Filters in the various OS X Communities for iMessage and Messages (depending how they are listed).
On that basis I am presuming it is the Messages app and only the iMessages Account is Enabled.
If this is the case the app is working as it should.
There is no Status for the iMessages account.
You are either Enabled and Logged in or you are not.
The item in the App Menu refers to Buddy List accounts (Bonjour, AIM, Jabber including Google and Yahoo)
Enable the Bonjour account and display the Buddy list (Window Menu ) if you wish to see it working.
