Feb 6, 2016 6:52 AM in response to eriddlerby Loner T,Was W10 installed using EFI Boot? You can check by running msinfo32 and looking at BIOS mode.

Feb 6, 2016 12:46 PM in response to Loner Tby eriddler,Yes, it is EFI. I saw other posts that mention EFI doesn't work, so my question would be: how do I change to another way of booting? It was already a pain to get W10 to install in the first place, and not sure what I would do different.

Feb 6, 2016 2:31 PM in response to eriddlerby Loner T,Instead of EFI boot, do you get an error when you choose the legacy Windows icon?
-
Feb 6, 2016 10:07 PM in response to Loner Tby eriddler,I don't have a legacy option. When I hold down the option key, I have OS X, Recovery, and Windows 10.

Feb 7, 2016 6:42 AM in response to eriddlerby Loner T,Was BC Assistant used to install W10? BCA on your specific model will create a Hybrid MBR which then results in a BIOS/MBR installation. If W10 is installed using a previous W7/W8+ installation, it should also result in a legacy installation.

Feb 7, 2016 8:58 AM in response to Loner Tby eriddler,It was a clean install, no prior Win7/8+ installation. I did use BCA to install W10. When I looked at the System Information in W10, it showed EFI.

Feb 7, 2016 3:50 PM in response to eriddlerby Loner T,How much work is it to remove this installation, create a new partition, check the MBR and use a physical DVD to install W10?
-
Feb 7, 2016 10:41 PM in response to Loner Tby eriddler,This is just a side project, to see if I can make it happen. So I can do that, though I don't have a physical DVD. Used an ISO on a USB to install (modified plist to make the computer able to use USB)...
Do I just delete the partition and then create another one? What type of partition? I have not 'checked' an MBR before, but I can find out how online. Finally, can I put the ISO on a DVD and use it to install?

Feb 8, 2016 6:35 AM in response to eriddlerby Loner T,Use BCA to remove Windows (do not use Disk Utility). Burn the ISO to a physical DVD. You can leave the current USB installer as is. Use BCA's last option Install (or Remove) as necessary and test.

Feb 10, 2016 9:03 AM in response to Loner Tby eriddler,Just got some DVD-Rs (live in Greece right now, not as quick to get things here) so I'll work on it soon. I saw an answer concerning audio card Driver...could it be something simple like that ?
-
Feb 10, 2016 12:44 PM in response to eriddlerby Loner T,If it was a driver issue, BC driver installation should have installed. The issue is that the BC drivers do not see the audio devices when installing with EFI boot.

Any advice for proceeding?
